Your Free Credit Report (Really)

May16

Ever since the government passed a Federal law allowing free access to your own credit report, SO many websites have been trying to jump on the bandwagon of people searching for “free credit report”. Most of these sites auto-enroll you in some sort of program when you forget to cancel your “subscription” after receiving your credit report and you end up paying $25 – $100. Oops!

So, I did a little research and found out where to get your truely free credit report (you don’t have to enter your credit card info, etc): AnnualCreditReport.com. Under this Federal law that was passed, you can view your credit report, once very 12 months, from the 3 major credit reporters, Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. The one catch is that they don’t show you your actual credit score, but you can see it for $3.95. I didn’t bother to purchase my credit score, since it was pretty obvious by the credit reports that it was in very good standing =).
